'Walken' On In Hollywood...Acclaimed Comic Tribute Extends

Team Good Life Productions recently announced that, after a brief hiatus, All About Walken: The Impersonators of Christopher Walken,.Patrick O'Sullivan's "comedic theatrical tribute to an admired performer" would extend its run at Theatre 68 in Hollywood. Performances of the show ended during the week. It will return to the theater July 24 and run through August 21.

The new show stars nine actors, male and female, of diverse ethnicities and ages, who give their takes on Walken through monologues, scenes, improv, music, dance and more. The show evokes moments from many of Walken’s films as well as his appearances on TV and in music video. It also contains some original, novel material beyond the expectations for a show that celebrates impersonation. Building on its success, new sketches and new Walken moments are being added to the show.

Walken’s professional career began 53 years ago, when at age ten he appeared with Jerry Lewis in a skit on “The Colgate Comedy Hour.” Since then, Walken has appeared on Broadway (“The Lion in Winter,” “The Dead” and twelve others), television (a six-time host on “Saturday Night Live,” for which he won an American Comedy Award) and 83 films, including his Oscar® winning turn in “The Deer Hunter.” A trained dancer, praised by Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, Walken insinuates a dance move into each screen performance, a professional trademark.
