More Chances to Hear the Story of a Man Named Brady Sung in CA

Theater West in Los Angeles has announced that its current production of A Very Brady Musical has been extended and is now running through August 10. With book by Lloyd J. Schwartz and Hope Juber, and music and lyrics by Hope and Laurence Juber, "Brady" has been directed by Schwartz.

Based on the classic TV series, The Brady Bunch, created by Sherwood Schwartz (who's executive producer of the musical), the musical revolves around a misunderstanding: the Brady kids overhear a loud argument between their usually perfectly-in-love parents and think their parents might be heading for a divorce. What can they do? They dig in to raise money to obtain marriage counseling for their woe-stricken parents. Greg operates a car service; Marcia dates for money; Peter and Jan put on magic shows; and Bobby and Cindy look for money in couches. Meanwhile, Mike and Carol are desperately trying to have sex, something they have never done since they’ve always had six kids in the house and have never had any alone time.

According to press notes, "A Very Brady Musical is not The Brady Bunch, but it is a very affectionate satire." A chance to relive "some special Brady moments that you secretly wished had happened."

A Very Brady Musical runs at Theatre West (3333 Cahuenga Blvd West in Los Angeles) Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 323-851-7977. Further information is available online at www.theatrewest.org and www.averybradymusical.com.
