Review: Oedipus Loves You
From its opening nudity, "Oedipus Loves You" is that kind of aggressively different show that makes Off-Broadway nuthouse PS 122 either A) a ton of weird fun, or B) an exercise in how much crazy you can stand. On the one hand, the clothing-deprived gentleman mentioned above fellates the microphone and snarls his profane lyrics. On the other, some of the later songs in the classical-adaptation-cum-rock-set are terrific, and the show's mixture of domestic comedy and Greek tragedy occasionally approaches the sublime.
